Regardless of your opinions of Jane Briggs-Bunting this has provided us an opportunity to discuss the future of the J-School and the skills needed by future journalists.

I invite everyone to continue this discussion at http://savemsujrn.comAaron Olsonhttp://savemsujrn.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6526127125590696183.post-33471306333376813342009-07-05T00:43:59.914-04:002009-07-05T00:43:59.914-04:00Bonnie:

However, the the CNN/Detroit News debate blog experience was not a result of her contacts in the field, as this blog suggests. I had been blogging for the Detroit News for many years and approached my contacts there with the concept as an extra credit opportunity for my two Intro to Mass Media classes. My goal is not to diminish Jane's accomplishments, but to correct the record, in the interest of accuracy, and because this is an event of which I am most proud. Great credit should also go to graduate student Robin Blom, who worked tirelessly to make the event the success that it was. Thanks for the opportunity to make this correction - Bonnie BucquerouxBonnieBhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16158714321427756205noreply@blogger.com
